For the home opener of 2016, the Huskies fell to a disappointing loss against Winters Mill, losing 25-7. And last week, the team lost to Edgewood with a score of 48-0.  The team is looking to put something in the Win column this Friday versus North Harford, but they’re facing some tough statistics from last weeks game.

Quarterback Jordan Reid threw for just 50 passing yards and was intercepted once, giving him a completion percentage of 33.3% for the game. The top wide receiver of the game was Brendan Bandy, but he had just 50 receiving yards. Top running back of the night Pierce Monroe averaged just 2.5 yards per carry and had only 15 rushing yards.

On the defensive side, Arlen Agiliga led the roster with 6.5 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Sophomore Connor Madsen followed closely behind with 5.0 tackles.

The tough game at Edgewood last week left a multitude of players injured: Beatty (DT), Mattheu (WR, FS), Pencook (MLB), Hollingshead (DT, DE), Addington (Defense, not listed on maxpreps.com).

Hollingshead and Pencook are the only not scheduled to play this Friday.

North Harford has an overall record of 1-1, with a loss at Hereford but a win when South Carroll visited the Hawks at home.

But, it’s important to remember that Patterson Mill won when they scrimmaged North Harford earlier this summer.

The statistics from the Edgewood game may not be in the teams favor, but there is still spirit and hope on social media for the potential win this Friday. Peter Deschner, senior and member of the marching band, put out a tweet that encompasses the spirit of the team going into this game:

“It was a tough loss at Edgewood, but don’t stop coming to the games, they need our support more than ever now! #huskynation”

Be sure to come out and support your huskies at the second home game of the season, this Friday, September 16th at 7pm.
