The annual Navy vs. Air Force college football game was rescheduled due to the government shutdown on October the 1st . However, the Midshipmen were not planning on allowing the government to shut them down from hosting Air force in their home stadium in the capitol of Maryland, Annapolis.  The game was rescheduled to October the 5th “Everyone was just happy that the game didn’t fall victim to the government shutdown,” proclaimed by sources from the Baltimore Sun.  The game drew a remarkable crowd of 38,225, people which was the largest in the history of Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

The performance of the game had unexpected start… Coach Ken Niumatalolo of the Midshipmen would not use the short week preparation for Saturday’s game as an excuse for the way the Midshipmen played for most of the first half.  Quarterback Keenan Reynolds of the midshipmen had his own opinion on his performance. Reynolds was not settled on blaming himself for his shaky start. Due to the mild concussion he experienced in the previous game against Western Kentucky.” I think I tried to do too much instead of just worrying  about doing my job and letting the rest take care of itself,” explained Reynolds. Even though Reynolds did not have his ideal performance he still led the Midshipmen to a 28-10 victory over Air Force to improve to a solid 3-1 record. There is much anticipation for Navy’s next game against their biggest rival Army, it’s going to come down to Navy’s offense vs. Army’s defense.
